A Laravel website is a custom website whose features, data and user permissions are built around your organisation. Examples include customer accounts, a members’ area, an ERP-backed catalogue or a website that sends enquiries to your CRM.

If you mainly need information pages and a contact form, a WordPress website may be sufficient. Laravel becomes useful when custom functionality forms an important part of the website.

WordPress or Laravel: how do you choose?
For a business website with pages, news and straightforward editing, WordPress is often a good fit. You do not need a custom application just to explain your services.
With Laravel, we build the features and administration area to your requirements. That involves a different investment, but supports your own business rules, permissions and integrations. Multiple languages or a large number of pages alone do not require replacing WordPress.
We compare functionality, maintenance and total cost. If the website primarily becomes a workspace for staff or customers, also consider web application development or a customer portal.
Laravel in practice: our own AdComPro
AdComPro is an Altena Digital product, with PHP and Laravel on the backend and PostgreSQL as its database. It connects projects, time tracking, budgets and invoicing.

What does a Laravel website cost?
Indicative budget: €3,500 to €7,500 excluding VAT for a compact Laravel website. This assumes existing branding, supplied content, a simple administration area and one focused custom feature, such as a multi-step enquiry form. A customer portal, payments and external integrations fall outside this starting scope.
For a website with a limited customer area, additional permissions or one clearly defined API integration, €7,500 to €15,000 excluding VAT is a budget indication. A larger portal, multiple integrations or a SaaS platform requires its own estimate.
These are indicative one-off development budgets. Graphic design, content production, extensive migration, hosting, maintenance and external licences are excluded. We agree the final fixed price once the project scope is defined.
A Laravel website is quoted according to the agreed functionality. The €500 to €1,500 range on our website development page applies to WordPress websites, not custom Laravel work.

The framework alone does not determine rankings. We provide a technical foundation with readable pages, titles, canonicals, a sitemap and redirects where needed. Relevant content and recognition remain important.
Can you take over an existing Laravel website?
We start by assessing the code, versions, integrations and hosting. We can then advise what is needed for maintenance or further development.
How do you handle security and maintenance?
Access permissions, input validation and secure connections form part of development. Updates, backups and management are needed after delivery and are covered separately in the proposal.
Do I own the website?
You own the custom code and data, with documentation for handover. Licences and terms for external services are listed separately.
